Jack would say, “When you’ve gone from love to hate in 2 bad shots and you realize this sport is your life, it consumes you and this frustrating, maddening and wonderful maze would go on forever, when you realize that even if you “could” solve it, it would mean nothing to you. 

Jack was addicted to golf, once he quoted Arnold Palmer saying, “Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening - and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented

For some, it’s a way of getting into college, to others, it’s being with friends, but to those who are addicted and passionate about this game, there has to be something inside that drives you.
